Coady graduated from the Liverpool youth system, made two first-team appearances, spent an entire season on loan at Sheffield United, and then inked a long-term contract with Huddersfield Town in 2014.

A year later, he paid Wolverhampton Wanderers £2 million to sign him, and he has since made over 300 appearances for them, aiding them in winning the Championship in 2017–18. Conor Coady made his England debut at a young age and helped the under-20 squad win both the 2010 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Coady started the first four games of Sean Dyche’s reign after Frank Lampard was fired as manager in January 2023. On February 25, following a 2-0 loss at home to Aston Villa, Michael Keane and James Tarkowski, both of whom had previously played for Burnley under Dyche, took his position on the bench.

Coady’s return to Everton was publicly announced on June 1st, 2023. Everton reportedly decided not to exercise an option to sign him permanently, according to British media.
