President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo stated during his tenth address that, Ghana’s borders remain closed until further notice.

One of the measures taken by government earlier to help contain the coronavirus pandemic was the closure of our various boarders, from air, land and sea to prevent the importation of the virus.

The president however extended the closure based on a consensus from a stakeholder consultation. This implies that, the many individuals and businesses expecting government to open the borders will have to wait until the time becomes right for such directive.

However, a special provision has been made for Ghanaians stranded abroad to be brought back home. Upon arrival, such people will be subjected to mandatory quarantine and safety protocols.
