Crystal Gayle is an American country music performer, she was born on January 9, 1951. Crystal Gayle is best remembered for her 1977 single “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue.”.
Gayle’s management and record company were initially the same as those of her older sister, Loretta Lynn. After trying the arrangement for several years without success, Gayle decided to adopt a different strategy with Lynn’s support. With Nashville producer Allen Reynolds, she started recording under a new record deal. Gayle switched to a new style, which is sometimes known as middle-of-the-road (MOR) or country pop. It was a part of a larger musical tendency by many country singers of the 1970s to appeal to a wider audience. Gayle went on to become one of the most popular crossover performers of the 1970s and 1980s. Her floor-length hair has become associated with her name.
