She is widely regarded as the face of women’s Australian rules football. Pearce has been Melbourne’s captain since the competition’s inception.
She previously served as the club’s captain in the women’s exhibition games held prior to the league’s formation in 2016.
In 2017, she was named best on field while captaining Victoria in the first AFL Women’s State of Origin match.
Pearce graduated from La Trobe University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery. In 2019, the University named her a Distinguished Alumni.
While living in Eltham, she worked as a midwife at Box Hill Hospital.
She relocated to Porepunkah with her family in October 2020 and has since split her time between there and Melbourne.
