He is recognized as one of the tallest defenders in the league. Burn made his Football League debut for Darlington in 2009, and after playing in 19 games for Darlington, he joined Fulham at the end of the 2010–11 season.
Dan Burn played for Yeovil Town on loan for the 2012–13 season, where he made 41 appearances, and Birmingham City the following year.
At the conclusion of the 2015–16 campaign, his contract with Fulham expired, and he joined Wigan Athletic. Burn transferred to Brighton & Hove Albion before the 2018–19 campaign.
But until January 2019, Dan Burn was promptly loaned back to Wigan. With Brighton, he went on to establish himself as a reliable performer in the Premier League beginning with the 2019–20 campaign.
