He was spotted rushing to the locker room after the hit. QB Tyrod Taylor takes the field in his place.

Early in the fourth quarter at Hard Rock Stadium, with the Giants positioned close to midfield, Jones took the snap and got ready to pass. Linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel of the Dolphins abruptly broke through the Giants’ offensive line, approaching Jones from behind.

Jones was slow to rise after the impact, necessitating assistance as he entered the medical tent and exited the field. He was escorted to the locker room after that. Unfortunately, Jones’ neck injury caused him to be quickly removed from the game.

Tyrod Taylor replaced Jones on the field. Jones completed 14 of 20 throws for 119 yards on the day. On four carries, he added 24 rushing yards as well.

Given his past, Jones’ most recent neck issue is especially troubling. He suffered a cervical spine injury in 2021, which resulted in his missing the final six regular-season games. Surgery was required due to the injury’s severity, which caused real concerns for his health.

The fact that he has been sacked an insane 17 times in the last two weeks makes matters worse. There is cause for concern given this trend of constant, high pressure on the quarterback.

Since his first season, Daniel Jones has served as the Giants’ starting quarterback. His outstanding quickness and talent at making plays with his legs define his playing style. However, his game has a flip side as he struggles with turnovers and consistency.

Jones is in his fifth season with the Giants in 2023, and he is expected to perform well and maintain his position.
