David Furnish is a Canadian director and former advertising executive best recognized as Sir Elton John’s spouse.
They began dating in 1993, became civil partners in 2005, and were wed in 2014. He was a board member of the London branch of the advertising firm Ogilvy & Mather prior to that.
Under the couple’s joint production company, Rocket Pictures, he has directed and produced a number of films and documentaries, including “Elton John: Tantrums & Tiaras,” “It’s a Boy Girl Thing,” “Gnomeo & Juliet,” “Billy Elliot the Musical Live,” “Sherlock Gnomes,” and “Rocketman.”
He has written for publications like Tatler, Interview, and GQ, where he wrote on Jude Law. He is on the board of the Elton John AIDS Foundation as well.
