At an early age, Klemmer began playing rugby, representing several Sydney junior clubs. He participated in the collegiate rugby team while attending Holy Cross collegiate in Ryde.
While still in high school, David Klemmer was chosen to play for the Australia Schoolboys rugby team. Klemmer joined the Canterbury Bulldogs after graduating from high school, where he made his NRL debut in 2013.
With David Klemmer’s aggressive playing style, he immediately made a name for himself as one of the finest forwards in the league. In 2015, Klemmer was chosen to represent the New South Wales State of Origin team and made his debut against Queensland. That same year, he also joined the Australian national rugby team.
