Shreve and the New York Yankees reached a minor league agreement on August 28, 2022. On November 10, 2022, he decided that he would be released.
Dean agreed to a minor league contract with the Detroit Tigers organization on January 9, 2023. On March 29, the Tigers announced that he had been named to the Opening Day roster.
