After a poor 2022 campaign, the Denver Broncos’ 2023 campaign was expected to be different, but so far it hasn’t made much of a difference. Despite jumping off to a dominating 21-3 lead early on, they faltered in the last minutes, allowing the Commanders to rally and go on to win 35-33. Hope was raised by a last-second Hail Mary touchdown, but the two-point attempt failed. On the conversion attempt, the Commanders’ defense avoided a potential pass interference call.

Sam Howell, the quarterback for the Commanders, put out a strong effort, completing 27 of 39 passes for 300 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Brian Robinson, a running back, excelled as well, amassing 87 rushing yards and 42 receiving yards.

Russell Wilson, the quarterback for the Broncos, had a difficult day, throwing an interception and taking seven sacks. Wilson’s final figures reveal 309 yards and three touchdowns, but his effort fell short of the standard the Sean Payton-led Broncos had hoped for.

For the Broncos, rookie receiver Marvin Mims’ playmaking abilities in both receiving and return duties offered a glimpse of optimism. The Broncos failed to target Mims in the second half, despite a solid first half.

The Commanders, on the other hand, have exceeded the expectations of their supporters with an amazing 2-0 start amid promises for a new beginning in the post-Dan Snyder era. On the other hand, the Broncos, who were also hopeful for a significant turnaround, are in a predicament similar to their problems from the previous season.
