Ladd made her film debut in 1957 in “Something Wild,” directed by Jack Garfein. She went on to appear in numerous movies and television shows in 1960 and 1970, including “The Wild Angels,” “The Reivers,” and “The Mod Squad.”

However, it was her performance as Flo in Martin Scorsese’s 1974 film “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” that got her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Ladd was also featured in films such as “Wild at Heart,” “Rambling Rose,” and “Primary Colors.” She also appeared in several television series, including “Alice,” “The Love Boat,” and “Touched by an Angel.”
