Herschel Walker, is a retired American footballer, who spent 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), he was born on March 3, 1962. Herschel is the Georgia Republican’s choice for the U.S. Senate in 2022.
At the University of Georgia, where he played football in college, Walker won the Heisman Trophy as a junior. He played for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL) for the first three years of his professional career, and in 1985, the league’s final year, he won MVP honors. Walker joined the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys after the USFL disbanded, and from 1987 to 1988, he earned back-to-back Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors. Walker was sent to the Minnesota Vikings in 1989, a transaction that is regarded as one of the most lopsided in NFL history and is thought to have helped launch the Cowboys’ dynasty in the 1990s.
Later on, Herschel played for the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles before wrapping up his career with a second stint with the Cowboys. In 1999, Walker was admitted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
