Rab Wardell gained notoriety for his mountain biking career. At the age of 37, the cyclist has stopped breathing. A few days after competing in and winning the Scottish MTB XC Championships, he passed away on August 23, 2022.
In a statement announcing his passing, Scottish Cycling said, “We are devastated to confirm the news that international mountain biker and former employee, Rab Wardell, has passed away today.”
Did Rab Wardell Have A Heart Condition?
According to reports, Rab Wardell experienced a heart attack. His partner Katie Archibald revealed this to him.
Katie Archibald, a track cyclist, tweeted on Wednesday that her partner Waddell had experienced a “cardiac arrest” on Tuesday.
“I believe you heard that Rab passed away early yesterday,…I’m still confused about what happened; if this is true; and why he would be removed now when he seemed so healthy and content.While we were in bed, he suffered a heart arrest.
Though the paramedics arrived quickly after I kept trying and his heart stopped, they were unable to revive him.
