Although there have been no official announcements of public events to mark the 25th anniversary of Diana’s passing, William and Harry paid tribute to their mother with messages at an awards ceremony bearing her name on July 1, which would have been the princess’ 61st birthday.

Harry stated in his speech that “there hasn’t been a day in the past 25 years when I haven’t thought about the mark she left, not just on my brother and I, but on all of our lives”. “I see her legacy every time I meet with families, young people, and kids from all over the world,” he continued. When I look at my own kids every day, I can see my mother’s legacy. “This is a special year, and I hope we take extra time to remember her as she lived, as well as to reflect on the life she continues to lead through so many,” she said.

Did the Queen bows her head at Diana’s funeral?

On the day of the funeral, as Diana’s coffin passed by Buckingham Palace, the queen bowed her head, and other members of the royal family who were standing beside her did the same. Princess Margaret, the queen’s only sibling, came under fire for ostensibly declining to participate in the gesture of respect.

The princess and Diana were neighbours at Kensington Palace, and despite the pair’s early support for the new member of the royal family, their friendship is said to have soured in Diana’s later years.
