Chará began his career in the Deportes Quindo youth ranks. Chara came to the senior team in 2004 and quickly established himself as an important player for Quindo.
While with Quindo, the talented midfielder appeared in 124 league matches and scored two goals.
Diego joined Portland in April 2011 and became the club’s first-ever Designated Player.
Diego scored his first goal in Major League Soccer on August 20th, just 78 seconds into a home encounter against Cascadia Cup opponents Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
