Dinah was the fourth of five children born into a rural family. According to her father, the death of her mother Judy, who was 39 at the time, died in a vehicle accident when she was six years old leaving a lasting impression on her childhood. Social services first sought to place the kids in foster care because they thought their father couldn’t care for them on his own. McNicol had to fight to keep them.

Dinah McNicol autopsy shows that her wrist was tied together with her arm behind her back. It was suspected that she was kept silent while being killed with a knotted gag that was discovered in her mouth.
Dinah’s body contained traces of drugs, It was claimed that samples collected from her body had amitriptyline residue. She was already dead when she was buried at a house in Irvine Drive, Margate.
