Messiah, which means “anointed one” in Hebrew, Christians hold that Jesus is the Messiah because of how he saved humanity by being crucified and raised from the dead.

Although Jesus never referred to himself as the Messiah, his apostles did so frequently. For instance, one of Jesus’ disciples, Simon Peter, tells him in the Gospel of Matthew (16:13–17), “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

When referring to a male monarch having control over others, the term “lord” is used with reverence. According to Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus is the “Lord” and possesses absolute power over both heaven and earth (Matthew 28:18)

Christians acknowledge that everyone will sin at some point in their lives, making them worthy of God’s wrath and punishment. Christians, on the other hand, think that as God is omnibenevolent,

He sent Jesus to rescue people in two ways:

1. According to Christian belief, Jesus helps individuals live lives that are less wicked by his teachings and by serving as an example of unselfish love.
2. According to Christians, Jesus atoned for human sins by dying on the cross as a sacrifice. This indicates that Christ made it possible for God to pardon human sins by paying the price for their commission.
