Christians are a set of people who believe in God, the Supreme Being, who created the universe. Every Christian believes there is God and has always prayed to Him.

On the other hand, they believe that Jesus Christ is the saviour who came to die to save humanity from their sins. Therefore, whosoever shall believe in Him shall be saved as the scriptures make it clear in John 3:16.

However, there have been so many questions concerning the mystery of Jesus Christ being God.

Is God and Jesus Christ the same person?

The Bible also states it clear in 1 Timothy 3:16 “And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory”. (KJV)

The above is a summary of the answer to the question of whether Jesus Christ is God, and the exact answer is Yes.

From the Old Testament to the New Testament, there are verses that state clearly that Jesus Christ is God. Below are some scriptures from both the Old and New Testaments that show that Jesus Christ is God.

Isaiah 9:6, gave the attributes of the son to be born which are the same attributes as God’s.

Matthew 1:23 gave the name of the son as Emmanuel which means God with us.

Colossians 2:9 states that in Jesus Christ dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

John 1:1, 14 also state that the Word was God and the Word became flesh, meaning God became man.

John 8:24 Jesus said if anyone do not believe that he is God, the person shall die in their sins.

In summary, God is the Father in creation, Son in redemption (Jesus Christ) and Holy Spirit in regeneration. Also, it was the words of Jesus Christ that made the Jews want to kill him because they said He made Himself as God which He is.
