On the Adult Contemporary Chart, he has written and recorded 51 Top 40 hits, including 36 Top 20 singles, 28 Top 10 singles, and 13 Number 1 singles. Manilow has released 13 platinum albums and six multi-platinum albums.

The jazz vocalese standard “Cloudburst” by Jon Hendricks, which was most famously performed by his quartet Lambert, Hendricks, and Ross in 1959, and a slower-tempo rendition of “Could It Be Magic” are both included on the album. Chopin’s “Prelude in C Minor,” which gave Donna Summer one of her earliest hits, served as the inspiration for the latter’s tune.
