Ben Bernanke was born in Georgia and raised in South Carolina in a middle-class family. Ben earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from Harvard University in 1971. Following that, Ben Bernanke attended MIT and earned a PhD before pursuing a career as an economist.
Ben Bernanke was a professor at Stanford University before joining the Princeton faculty. Ben Bernanke finally joined the Federal Reserve System in 2002, eventually becoming its chairman in 2006. During the late-2000s financial crisis, his role became critical, and Ben Bernank played a significant role in stabilizing the situation.
