The majority of golfers, however, do not qualify for their first US Open when they are 12 years and 4 months old.
In fact, most golfers do not qualify for their second or third US Opens when they are 13 or 14 years old (2009). Lexi Thompson was the one who did it.
In 2009, she even made the cut, finishing 34th. For the love of Seve, she was 14 years old!

Lexi Thompson has a tattoo that you’ll be able to see on the golf course. The major winner chose to memorialize her 2016 Olympic experience in the same manner that many other athletes, including Rickie Fowler, have done: by getting an Olympic ring tattoo.
Thompson posted an Instagram photo of his new tattoo. It’s on the bottom of her arm, on her left wrist.
Naturally, a part of the golf glove will occasionally hide this. It serves as a reminder of the effort that went into qualifying for the Olympics and what it means to compete for the United States.
