Up until 1967, Marin played for Deportivo Saprissa. Then, he switched to the NASL and joined the Kansas City Spurs and Oakland Clippers. Marn made his league debut for Deportivo Saprissa in 1962 against Uruguay de Coronado. Additionally, he failed tests for Go Ahead Eagles and PEC Zwolle in the Netherlands.
Marin played with Deportivo Saprissa in the 1960s and 1970s, winning 12 Primera División de Costa Rica titles with them. From 1972 through 1977, he won six championships in a row.
