Ella Ann Toone, who was born on the second, of September, in 1999, is an English professional footballer, who has formerly played for Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers, and has represented England at the under-17, under-19, under-21, and senior levels.
She currently plays as an attacking midfielder for Women’s Super League side, Manchester United and the England national team. Toone scored the opening goal in England’s 2-1 victory over Germany in the final of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, giving England their second major tournament title in international football.
Toone received her maiden senior national team call-up in September 2020 as part of a 30-player training camp at St George’s Park.
She made her senior international debut as a half-time substitute on February 23, 2021, and scored a penalty in a 6-0 friendly win over Northern Ireland. She scored a hat-trick against Latvia on October 26, 2021, as part of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification.
