Enda Mulvihill, 43, passed away unexpectedly in the Mater Hospital on Wednesday after a brief illness. He was the captain of the Garrycastle GAA team in Westmeath and a well-liked player there.

One of his club teammates was Dessie Dolan, the analyst for The Sunday Game. At Clontarf GAA, he most recently served as head coach of the U-19 boys and U-9 girls teams.
The Garrycastle GAA Club said in a touching tribute posted on Facebook in honor of Mr. Mulvihill that Enda Mulvihill, one of our most esteemed, committed, and treasured club members, passed away after a brief illness.

“Enda was recognized for his leadership skills as a former club captain,” the statement read. Enda joined our club in 1987 as a U10, and he made a significant contribution to several of the team’s early successes.

Enda didn’t have any serious disease, however, he died suddenly after a short sickness.
