Who is Jalyn Hall?

Jalyn Emil Hall was born in the US on 18 December 2007 – his zodiac sign is Sagittarius and he holds American nationality. He is an actor, who gained recognition after he portrayed Dillon James in the drama sports series “All American” which began airing in 2018 and stars Daniel Ezra, Samantha Logan and Michael Evans Behling. The story follows a high school football player who moves from South Central to Beverly Hills to play for their team.

The series won Chad L. Coleman a Black Reel Award for Outstanding Guest Actor, Drama Series, and it was nominated for another Black Reel Award as well as an Image Award.

 

Early life and education

Jalyn is being raised in Los Angeles, California alongside his older brother and sister, by their father who is a mailman, and their mother who is working at a local supermarket – the family moved to Los Angeles so that Jalyn could pursue his career as an actor, even at his tender age!

He became interested in acting even before he started elementary school – he joined the school’s drama club not long after enrolling, and appeared in virtually all the plays performed there. Jalyn also became physically active, as he played soccer for the school’s team and in 2017 at the age of 10, he launched his acting career by portraying six-year old Cotton in the episode “Mama’s Boy” in the musical series “Star”.

Jalyn will be enrolling at a high school in 2021, and has already stated in an interview that he is planning to focus on his acting career after he matriculates, rather than pursue a college degree.

 

Career as an actor

In 2017 not long after making his TV debut, Jalyn appeared in a single episode of both the romantic series “The Quad” and the drama series “Tales”, then in 2018, he was cast to play eight-year old Dre in two episodes of the comedy series “Black-ish”.

He then portray Shawn in the episode “Crabs in a Barrel” of the musical comedy series “Atlanta”, followed by his portrayal of Derrick in the episode “Ninguna Salida” of the action crime series “NCIS: Los Angeles”.

The year 2018 also saw him make his debut film appearance when he portrayed Devin in the comedy fantasy movie “The House with a Clock in Its Walls” which starred Jack Black, Cate Blanchett and Owen Vaccaro, and is about an orphan and his magical uncle who have to stop the world from ending.

 

Jalyn then guest starred as Theodore in the episode “The Good Neighbors” of the comedy series “Family Time”, followed by appearing in his second movie “Gully” in 2019, portraying Little Calvin. In the same year he played the supporting character Harlem Kid in the action comedy crime film “Shaft”, and guest starred as Grayson in two episodes of the comedy series “Family Reunion”.

 

Three of Jalyn’s most recent appearances have been in 2020, when he starred as Deydey in the thriller movie “John Henry”, played the lead character in the short video “Popular by Dat Kid Maddy”, and portrayed Young Jahkor in the drama movie “All Day and a Night”.

Jalyn has also appeared in the documentary series “Teens Wanna Know”, and the documentary movie “ACA Dreams Being Young Gifted & Black”, while he has recently been cast to appear in two upcoming movies, entitled “The Outlaw Johnny Black” and “The App That Stole Christmas”.

 

Friends and relationships

Jalyn is a highly social person who likes to meet people and try new things, and has numerous friends, most of whom he has met at his elementary school, while he is also close to many people he has met on the sets of movies and TV series. He is said to be good friends with Daniel Ezra, alongside whom he starred in the sports series “Championships”.

It is widely believed that Jalyn is too young to be dating, although some of his friends have stated that he has a crush on an elementary school friend, and that the two often spend time together and have been seen holding hands more than once.

It is also said that he has a crush on Emma Watson as he loved to watch her in the earlier “Harry Potter”, movies but this hasn’t been confirmed by the young actor.

As of August 2020, Jalyn is of course still single.

 

Hobbies and other interests

Jalyn is keen on travelling, and with his parents’ permission, he has been to several US states to shoot for his movies and TV series – even though he likes to travel, Jalyn sometimes prefers to stay at home and do nothing.

He is a huge fan of the actor Chadwick Boseman who portrayed the Black Panther in the eponymous movie, and Jalyn was left heartbroken when he learned that Chadwick died just days ago, having fought cancer for four years.

Some of his other favorite actors are Will Smith and Denzel Washington, and a few of his favorite movies include “I Am Legend”, “I, Robot” and “Enemy of the State”.

Jaylin likes to play sports, and basketball is currently his favorite, but he also plays tennis, table tennis and badminton.

Jalyn’s age is 12. He has short black hair and brown eyes, his height is 4ft 10ins (1.48m) and he weighs around 90lbs (41kgs).

As of August 2020, his net worth has already been estimated at over $200,000.
