Two teenage brothers were arrested following a fatal shooting during a dispute over Christmas presents. The incident occurred when Abrielle Baldwin, 23, was shot in the chest by one brother while carrying her 10-month-old son in a carrier.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the altercation escalated as the brothers argued over the distribution of Christmas presents. In the course of the dispute, the older brother, aged 15, shot Abrielle Baldwin. In a shocking turn of events, the younger sibling, a 14-year-old, then pulled out his own gun and shot his older brother.

Sheriff Bob Gualtieri reported that the 15-year-old fled the scene and discarded his firearm. The 14-year-old, wounded in the incident, was transported to the hospital in stable condition and will face custody upon release.

The tragic shooting resulted in the death of Abrielle Baldwin, who was pronounced dead at the hospital. Sheriff Gualtieri highlighted that internal bleeding caused her inability to breathe. Fortunately, the baby in the carrier remained unharmed.

Authorities recovered the firearm used in the incident, and the 15-year-old brother has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. The case will be reviewed by local prosecutors to determine whether the 14-year-old will be charged as an adult for the killing of his sister. The heartbreaking incident underscores the devastating consequences of familial disputes that can escalate to lethal violence.
