Bagnaia has been named to the Ducati Lenovo Team, the factory squad headquartered in Borgo Panigale, for 2021. Bagnaia got his maiden pole position in the premier class in the first race in Qatar, finishing third to secure a podium finish. Second in Portimao and later in Jerez behind teammate and winner Jack Miller, the Italian rider showed he was set to take his first victory on multiple occasions, but an accident at his home GP in Mugello delayed his momentum.
