Uzoho, a Nwangele native, began training at the Aspire Academy in Senegal in 2013 when he was 14 years old.
Originally a forward, Uzoho was switched to the goalkeeping position at the age of 12 after being deemed “too slow.” Francis Uzoho joined the Juvenil team of Deportivo de La Corua in 2016 after making an impression at a competition in Barcelona.
Uzoho was only able to sign a contract with Dépor in January 2017 due to age restrictions; shortly after doing so, he began training with the first team.
On October 15, 2017, Uzoho started in an away 0-0 draw against SD Eibar for his first team and La Liga debut. Francis Uzoho made his La Liga debut at the age of 18 years and 352 days, making him the youngest foreign goalkeeper to do so.
