Hornby joined Everton from Northampton Town in September 2014, earning a starting salary of £65,500.
Hornby was included to Everton’s first-team squad for their Europa League away game against Apollon Limassol on December 6, 2017. A day later, he made his first-team debut, starting and playing for 82 minutes in a 3-0 triumph.
Hornby was loaned to the Belgian club Kortrijk in August 2019. On September 25, 2019, he scored his first goal for the squad in a 3-1 victory over RFC Seraing in the Belgian Cup. Hornby signed a contract with Ligue 1 club Reims for an undisclosed fee on July 1, 2020.
