Gail Finney (August 16, 1959 – August 20, 2022) was an American businesswoman and politician who represented the 84th House District in the Kansas House of Representatives from 2009 until her death.
Wichita, Kansas, is where Finney was born. She graduated from Southeast High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration and an MBA from Wichita State University. She ran her own business.

Finney served on the Wichita Chamber of Commerce’s Visioneering Racial, Diversity, Opportunities, and Harmony Board, as well as the District 1 Advisory Board, Precinct Committee Woman, and the Governor’s Kansas African American Advisory Commission.

Finney served in the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 84th District. In 2009, she was appointed. Her current term will end in January 2023.
Finney was regarded as a statesman in the House Democratic caucus and was well-known for her work on a variety of issues, including foster care reform in the state and criminal justice issues, particularly bail reform.

Gail Finney’s cause of death

Finney died on August 20, 2022, at the age of 63, after a series of health issues. She had received a kidney transplant earlier this year.

The public is not aware of the reason for her death.
