Georg Ratzinger was a well-known German Catholic Priest who passed away on July 1, 2020, in Regensburg, Germany. Georg Ratzinger was notable for his role as the conductor of the Cathedral choir called Regensburg Domspatzen and for playing a role in turning a blind eye to sexual abuse of the young choir members. Georg Ratzinger who was born on January 15, 1924, in Pleiskirchen, Germany, was also known as the very elder brother of Pope Benedict XVI.

Georg Ratzinger as a child was known to have had a lot of interest in musical instruments especially playing the church organ when he was at the age of 11. Georg Ratzinger joined the minor seminary in the year 1935 in Traustein and was known to have been nurtured professionally with music instruction. After some time Georg Ratzinger gained the draft opportunity to the Reichsarbeitsdienst and the Wehrmacht. Georg Ratzinger became a choir director after his studies were completed in the year 1957 at Traustein.

Georg Ratzinger who died at the age of 96 was known to have been battling a long-term sickness. He passed away on July 1, 2020, after his condition grew worse.
