Apart from singing and writing R&B songs, Elgin Baylor Lumpkin, better known by his stage name Ginuwine, is also a dancer, actor, and songwriter. October 15th, 1970 marked his birth.

Elgin Baylor, a fellow resident of Washington, D.C., inspired him to choose his name. He obtained an associate’s degree in paralegal studies from Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland, after graduating from Forestville High School (now known as Forestville Military Academy) in Forestville, Maryland, in 1986.

In the 2004 Half & Half episode “The Big Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls Episode,” Ginuwine played R.J. Jackson.

In the Gospel Music Channel’s premiere of John Ruffin’s stage drama The Ideal Husband in February 2011, Ginuwine co-starred alongside Darrin Dewitt Henson, Jackée Harry, Clifton Powell, Shirley Murdock, Shanti Lowry, and Erica Hubbard.

Ginuwine has a brother and a sister as siblings. James III and Latisha Lumpkin are his two siblings. Their parents were Sandra Lumpkin and James II Lumpkin. The parents are both deceased.
