For more than 50 years, Mrs. Allen attended State Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed observing the birds in her yard, reading, playing cards with her friends, baking (particularly buffalo chip cookies), and reading. Everyone who knew Mrs. Allen called her “Grandma.” Through the Ladies Auxiliary, she was a cherished supporter and member of the VFW Post 641.

Her children, Linda Harris (Doug), Stephanie Steele, Andi Steele (Geoff), Rodger Steele, Jr. (Beth), Craig Allen, Brian Allen, and Angela Allen, as well as several nieces and nephews, survive her. Her son Glenn Allen, her husband of 63 years, Jimmie E. Allen, as well as her brother and four sisters, all predeceased her.

Gloria Allen obituary, funeral, burial, memorial service

The burial will take place at Southland Memorial Gardens after the funeral services on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 3 p.m. at the Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. Following the graveside service, the family will welcome visitors.

Gloria M. Allen’s family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to State Street Baptist Church (1420 State St., Cayce, SC 29033) or the charity of your choice in Gloria M. Allen’s honour.
