It could be recalled that the President of the republic gave directives that locked down major cities affected by covid-19 which put a stop to school activities among many others; a directive which he later lifted gradually for schools to reopon, starting with final year students who are supposed to study ahead of their exit exams.

This reopening has seen a surge in covid-19 cases in our various schools which attracted the attention of parents, opinion leaders and critics alike. The whole thing has taken a different twist now.

Mr. Alexander Danso, President of the National Parents Teachers Association (PTA) has implied in an interview that, government deceived parents on the real intention behind the reopening of schools.

During the interview which took place on Happy 98.9 FM, Mr. Danso stated that “The kids were told that they were going to revise for the exam and now the EC is on their campuses undertaking a registration exercise.”

He further added that, “The NPP is doing campaigns and they are all people from outside the school which is dangerous. We have to save our kids, parents are worried, they are crying whenever I receive their phone calls.”

At the peak of the interview, the very worried leader of the association questions government that: “Do we have to wait for the cases to rise first before we let the kids come home? He further advised that, A stitch in time saves nine.
