Guy claim Ghanaians would have been paying independence levy if it was Akufo-Addo who announced “Ghana is free Forever”

Ghanaians are still unhappy with Governments decision to tax them for the free water they enjoyed.

Government as part of it’s plan to help reduce some burdens on citizens during the fight against Covid-19 where most businesses were closed down announced that usage of water will entirely be free.

This was announced via a presidential address by President Akufo-Addo himself but it later came out that taxes would be paid for it. Leaving a lot of people branding it as a smart way of taking money from them.

And now one Facebook user is of the view we would have been paying tax for independence if it was the current president who announced it looking at the way taxes are introduced.
