Harry Lorayne was 96. His spokeswoman, Skye Wentworth, confirmed his passing away at a hospital but did not provide further details. Harry Lorayne had been a resident of Newburyport, Massachusetts, which is close to Boston.
Mr. Lorayne was a popular television guest and a favorite of Johnny Carson’s, making more than 20 appearances on “The Tonight Show.” Having started out as a sleight-of-hand performer, Mr. Lorayne was considered one of the best card magicians in the nation well into his nineties.
