Walker excelled as a player at the University of Georgia, earning three All-American selections, the Heisman Trophy in 1982, and the Maxwell Award. Walker, who only played for three years, is the only player in NCAA history to have finished in the top three of the Heisman voting in each of his three collegiate seasons.
