A wind of infrastructural development is blowing in the Okaikoi South constituency under the reigns of the newly elected NPP’s Hon. Dakoa Newman.
She won the 2020 elections after defeating the then MP Ahmed Arthur during the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primaries in June 2020.
Dakoa Newman polled 440 votes, while the incumbent MP had 327 votes.
Her election to parliament was historic – it was the first time in the fourth republic that a female candidate has been elected to take charge of the affairs of the constituency in parliament.
Well, just as the constituents obviously believed in Dakoa Newman before empowering her with their thumbs, she is giving them the very best just as she promised she would.
Within a space of barely one year after she was elected as MP, the 36-year-old daughter of Victor Newman who was also a politician is massively developing her constituency.
She has by far constructed new roads, repairing and upgrading existing ones.
Construction of several roads have begun in Okaikoi South Constituency, starting with Mukose Electoral Area (from Demod through to last stop).
Below are photos from some of the roads that has already being completed:
Before wearing her parliamentary robe, Dakoa Newman has been a project management consultant.
She executed projects such as the Westhills and Achimota mall, terminal 3 of the Kotoka International Airport and the Ecobank head-office among others.
