Frank Williams was an English actor best known for his role as Reverend Timothy Farthing in the BBC television sitcom Dad’s Army (1969-1977).

Frank Williams described his time with Dad’s Army as the “happiest phase of his professional life.”

He passed away recently at the age of 90.

He did, however, appear in roughly half of the series and both feature films.

Ian ‘Private Pike’ Lavender, 76, is the only remaining cast member.

The legendary actor recalled filming the series’ final episode, which aired in 1977, and how there was no formal announcement.

“Although no official announcement was made, I had a hunch when I arrived in the rehearsal room that season nine would be our final,” he explained. He was near the end of his life.

How did Actor Frank Williams die?

He died as a result of his advanced age, which left him partially blind even though he walked.

Frank had mentioned reaching his age before turning 90:

“I was in 39 of the 80 TV episodes, as well as the original film, stage production, and 14 radio episodes.” It’s difficult to believe I’m approaching that point.”
