After undergoing surgery for a blood clot in his brain sustained during his fight with fellow unbeaten boxer Jose Munoz last Saturday at Coliseo Elias Chegwi. He was diagnosed to having “neurological degeneration caused by head trauma due to severe contusions.” Quinones, who has a final record of 10-1 (6 knockouts), had been in a coma.
