According to Yevgeny Prigozhin, he founded it in May 2014 to support Russian proxies in the Ukraine’s Donbas War. This information was made public as a result of a popular movie that circulated online in 2022 and featured Prigozhin persuading inmates in a Russian jail to join the Wagner Group in exchange for serving a six-month sentence.
Prigozhin funded and managed a number of companies, including Concord Management and Consulting Company, The Internet Research Agency Ltd., and another associated businesses. The three companies are accused of monitoring customers online, attempting to influence the 2016 US presidential election, and engaging in other actions that aim to influence political events outside of Russia.

Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin’s finances came from Concord Catering, one of his companies, that started receiving significant government contracts.
He was able to secure government contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars to feed the kids and workers. In 2012, he was awarded a US$1.2 billion contract to feed the Russian military for a full year.
