The Indianapolis Colts safety Trevor Denbow plays football. The Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL) in America signed him as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022.

How Good Is Trevor Denbow?

Denbow, 24, spent most of his college years at Southern Methodist University, which is just one hour away from his Corsicana, Texas, hometown. Denbow was expected to perform a number of duties for the SMU team. He briefly plied his trade as a punter as well as a strong safety, free safety, nickel corner, outside linebacker, and nickel corner. Despite attempting to master multiple various defensive stances in the third quarter of the game, Denbow constantly showed strong performance.

He was so effective on special teams that a particular Colts coordinator saw him late in the draft process. Bubba Ventrone, the Colts’ special teams coordinator, expressed his affection for Denbow in the final month leading up to the draft, according to a few people familiar with the matter.

He repeatedly phoned Denbow and his agent, telling them to bring him to Indianapolis and that he would take care of the rest. Ventrone consistently stressed in these meetings that he thought of Denbow as a potential George Odum successor on the club, so this is quite high praise for a man who had not even participated in a single NFL action. Denbow’s three tackles in kick coverage in the team’s first preseason game gave Ventrone the appearance of being a clever businessman.

With a total of five special teams tackles this preseason, he went on to lead the NFL in that category (according to Pro Football Focus). Ventrone recognized Trevor (Denbowperformance )’s during a news conference last week, “He has done well.”
Whatever it means, he presently has the most special team tackles through two games in the league, in my opinion. He played well and put in a lot of work.
