They immigrated to the United States in the same year. Her father could trace her Italian ancestry back to the cities of Genoa, Venice, and Abruzzo.

 

When Nancy was born, her father was a Democrat in Maryland. Seven years after being elected Mayor of Baltimore, he was re-elected Mayor of Baltimore.

From 1967 to 1971, Thomas D’Alesandro III served as mayor of Baltimore. Pelosi has been involved in politics for a long time and is a staunch member of the Democratic Party. She offered to help her father with his upcoming campaign events.

In 2019, she was able to regain her speaker’s chair by agreeing to limit her tenure to four more years, satisfying enough House Democrats to allow them to vote for her. She has served six years as a speaker of the House of Representatives and 35 years representing San Francisco in Congress.
