Sir Mohamed Muktar Jama Farah, a long-distance runner, was born in Britain on March 23, 1983.

He is both the most successful British track athlete in the history of the modern Olympic Games and the most successful male distance runner in history thanks to his 10 gold medals from championships throughout the world, four Olympic, and six World crowns.

Kahin won the gold medal in the Olympics in 2012 and 2016 in the 5,000 m and 10,000 m.

He is the second athlete, after Lasse Virén, to win the 5,000 and 10,000 meters in consecutive Olympic competitions.

He also completed the “distance double” in 2013 and 2015 at the World Championships in Athletics.

The “quadruple-double,” or successfully defending both distance titles in the two most significant international competitions, was first accomplished by him.

Kahin won ten straight international finals after placing second in the 10,000 meters at the 2011 World Championships (the 5,000m in 2011, the 10,000m in 2017 and the double in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016).

The run was ended when Kahin lost to Ethiopian Muktar Edris in the 5,000-meter final during his final championship track race of 2017.
