Beijing ceremonies 2022

On the first and last days of the Beijing Olympic Games, there will be opening and closing ceremonies at the Beijing Olympic Stadium. The flags of China, the current host country, Greece (the Olympics’ country of origin), and Italy will be raised during the closing ceremony.

The 2026 Olympics will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, according to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The 2022 Beijing Paralympic Winter Games will begin on March 4th and conclude on March 13th.

No NHL in Beijing 2022

NHL players will not be competing in the events; numerous NHL season games have been postponed as a result of increasing Covid infections, resulting in an increase of postponed games.

Unfortunately, given the recent Covid-related circumstances – 50 games have already been postponed through Dec. 23, according to the NHL – Olympic participation is no longer viable.

After missing the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, their first Olympic absence since Lillehammer 1994, the Norwegians’ withdrawal signifies their second absence.
