Hedy Lamarr was born on November 9, 1914, in Vienna, Austria-Hungary to Getrude Kiesler and Emil Kiesler. Lamarr was an Austrian until 1938 and then naturalized in 1953 to become an American.

Hedy Lamarr was recognized as one of the greatest actresses of all time during the golden age of Hollywood. Hedy Lamarr starred in films like Money on the Street, Algiers, No Money Needed, Storm In a Water Glass, Ecstasy, Lady of the Tropics, and I Take This Woman, among many others.

As an inventor, Hedy Lamar, who was self-taught made a traffic stoplight as well as a tablet that when put in water will dissolve to be a carbonated drink. However, the drink was not successful.

In 1960, Hedy Lamarr was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Lamarr passed away on January 19, 2000, at age 85 in Casselberry, Florida, United States. Lamarr was survived by her three children named James, Denise, and Anthony.
