She is currently being held captive in Russia. She played collegiate basketball in Waco, Texas, for the Baylor Lady Bears. She is the only basketball player in the NCAA with 2,000 points and 500 shot blocks. The three-time All-American was named the AP Player of the Year and the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four in 2012. Of the 11 women, Griner is the only one with an Olympic gold medal, an NCAA championship, a FIBA World Cup gold medal, and a WNBA title.
