David Adedeji Adeleke, also known as Davido, was born on November 21, 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia. Davido is the youngest of five siblings and the second child born to his father.
Davido’s parents are Mr. Adedeji Adeleke and his late mother, Mrs. Vero Adeleke. At the age of 16, David moved to Alabama (USA) to study Business Administration at Oalawood University after attending the British International School in Lagos.
Davido began making beats at university after purchasing his first musical instrument. He then formed the music act KB International with his cousins (B-Red and Sina Rambo).
David later dropped out of university to pursue music full-time and relocated to London, where he worked on his vocals properly.
In 2012, following the release of his second single ‘Dami Duro’ following ‘Back When,’ which featured Naeto C, David became a household name in Nigeria, giving birth to his first studio album ‘Omo Baba Olowo,” which earned him the next rated award at the Headies. In 2013 and 2015, he released hit singles such as “Gobe,” “One Of A Kind,” “Skelewu,” “Aye,” “The Money,” and “The Sound.”
