Snow Golems are a festive addition to Minecraft. You can build your own snowman and bring him to life! While he won’t follow you around or have a carrot for a nose, your Snow Golem is a living incarnation of holiday spirit. If you like, you can create a small army of Snow Golems, provided that you have enough pumpkins to afford it!

While these creatures do not possess the greatest battle prowess of any friendly creature in Minecraft, it can still be fun to populate your snow bases with friendly golems. Snow Golems can also be used as a perimeter alarm. It is better to lose a Snow Golem than get attacked by a mob while unawares! In a pinch, you can craft a Snow Golem to assist you fighting Blazes and Ender Dragons. Snow Golems can do a fair amount of damage to these two entities, though they cannot survive in the Blaze’s home biome, the Nether.

To craft Snow Golem in Minecraft, you will need the following:

FAQs

Q. Will a Snow Golem protect me from witches and other mobs?

In a way, it is true that Snow Golem will protect you from mobs, though this is only temporary. Unfortunately, Snow Golems cannot do much damage and while they do throw snowballs at the enemy, snowballs only serve to aggro mobs. This means that mobs will chase and kill your Snow Golem instead of beelining towards you.

However, if you are fighting Blazes or Ender Dragons, the snowballs will of course do damage.

Q. Do Snow Golems have as much hp as Iron Golems?

Not quite, Snow Golems only have 4 hp and they will also unfortunately begin to melt when they are relocated to a desert biome or if it begins to rain.

Conclusion

Snow Golems are borderline useless, but at least they are cute! Snow Golems can protect you from enemies while giving you a heads-up of any incoming threats. Snow Golems do have some tricks to preserving their longevity by applying a Fire Resistance potion to them, allowing them to survive hotter environments. Water will still hurt them, however.
