On January 12, 1954, Howard Allan Stern was born in the US. He writes, performs on radio and television, and is a comedian. The Howard Stern Show, which was widely syndicated on terrestrial radio from 1986 to 2005, is his most well-known radio program. He has been a Sirius XM Radio announcer since 2006.

Stern’s first radio position was at Boston University. While working morning shifts at stations including WWDC in Washington, D.C., WWWW in Detroit, Michigan, and WRNW in Briarcliff Manor, New York, between 1976 and 1982, he developed his on-air persona. He put in his afternoons at WNBC in New York City from 1982 to 1985.

In 1974, he was admitted to the school’s School of Public Communications. He then finished his studies at the Radio Engineering Institute of Electronics in Fredericksburg, Virginia, in July 1975, receiving a diploma and the first-class radio-telephone operator license that the Federal Communications Commission at the time required of all radio broadcasters.
